Tribute to our Brave Boys & Girls who are on Active Service around the World...

God bless our brave soldiers
wherever they are
be it home, on leave
or serving in fields afar.

Mere thank-you's do lack
the true gratitude we feel
unable to fully convey
what our hearts don't reveal.

But how do you thank those
who put their lives on the line
in seemingly endless,
and often deadly rhyme?

Sure, you can pump their palms
give them bear hugs, too,
but are these enough to show
how much they mean to you?

Pray tell, where would we be
if they should ignore the call
by this nation under God
with liberty and justice for all?

You can search the world over
but will find merely a few
willing to risk their lives
for what our forefathers knew.

Some kings are just clueless
on the right path to choose
thus more reason than not
to challenge their views.

With one eye toward Heaven
the other on a bush somewhere
soldiers get stuck in the middle
on this board of life unfair.

So, dig deep into your hearts,
thank them for doing your job
for there go both you and I
except for the grace of God.

We bid farewell to family and friends,
In hope that someday we'll live as brothers.
I pray for the day all wars will end,
and my fate shall be spared to others.

It was the war to end all wars,
That is what they had said.
After all these years,
Britain still counts her dead.

I was a true Britain,

He didn't do it for the money or even the fame,
He just didn't want to die in vain,
He prayed that future generations remembered his name,
he lost his life for strangers he had never met before,
He was willing to sacrifice himself for the family next door,
We hear all this talk about how these soldiers die,
Think it's a father to a kid or a husband to a wife,
He stood tall like a tree and hard like a bolder,
All I ask is for you to remember the soldier

Like seconds on a clock,

Ribbon-adorned trees,
While others tuck in

A forever-altered normality

Bravo........... ...........I donated to a soldier in the street and got a little rubber blue and red band to put round my wrist...........for the heroes!!....

If my days were untroubled and my heart always light,
Would I seek that fair land where there is no night?
If I never grew weary with the weight of my load,
Would I seek for God’s peace at the end of the road?

If I never knew sickness and never felt pain,
Would I search for a hand to help and sustain?
If I walked without sorrow and lived without loss
Would my soul seek solace at the foot of the cross?

If all I desired was mine day by day,
Would I kneel before God and earnestly pray?
If God sent no winter to freeze me with fear,
Would I yearn for the warmth of spring every year?

I ask myself these and the answer is plain,
If my life were pleasure and I never knew pain -
I’d seek God less often and need him much less,
For God is sought more often in times of distress.

And no one knows God or sees him as plain -
As those who have met him on the "Pathway of Pain"

LP, I was in intensive care for 2 days after seeing the new avatar of jez ..

Remember me as I walk away for you I lived and died this day
And in this moment I can recall that as I fell I still stood tall
Into the falling night I cry tell them I love them and tell them why
I am not there to see them grow or curb the wild oats they sow
I am the one with arms held wide even in death not steeping aside
