Well that was my name for it lol I think it was actually called Sigil 's Tower and if I remember rightly the oblivian gate was near Skingrad, anyway you had to find the sigil stones and although I completed that tower and found the sigil stones I remember it being quite hard.... lol
It was such a long time ago that I have played this game.

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Oh, I know what you mean. The gates to Oblivion are really tough, they've got easier know I have some better weaponry and armour but my first attempt took me all night to even get to the door of the tower!!
You should get it back on Breeze, we could compare tactics

Yes you really do need to equip yourself with the best armour and weapons that you can.
And I know it wasn't easy reaching that tower..
It would probably take me awhile to get to where you are in the game LP lol and I would have to install it on my new PC, but there's a challenge! lol

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Well there's the first challenge for you, you could also turn the gameplay difficulty down so you can advance to the fun bits much quicker, you can always turn it back up at a later date

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
I've closed about 5 gates now, I think I'm level 5. I've got the Umbra sword, Mehrunes Razor and the Ebony Armour. I've also just managed to get into the Mages Guild finally!!

You have done quite a bit of the game then and that is my favourite character a mage I love using magic and zapping monsters with it..
I have just started playing Risen on the PC and it seems like a good RPG game also in the middle of Dragon Age Origins.
Are you playing Oblivion on the PC or games console, LP?
only the PC version has a few expansion packs for Oblivion one is Knights of the Nine and the other is Shivering isles that I know of there may be more..
Also there is Marrowind elder scroll III and expansion packs for that game too..

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
I'm playing it on xbox 360, You can get the expansion packs on there to, I've already downloaded the fighters stronghold and Frostcragg spire. Will probably get the Shivering Isle expansion pack once I nail the main story mode.
So what's Dragon Age like, I've nearly bought that a couple of times.

Well I have only just started it but it does seems quite good and your first quest is to help a couple of mages escape and there are quests, magic spells plenty of enemies to fight to increase your experience and levels in the game..
I bought it from Games online you can often get games from them for less than a tenner.
Dragon Age Origins.. Click here
Risen .. Click here

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Risen looks alright but I'm still not sold on Dragon Age enough to buy it. I might see if I can download a demo of it first.
Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Both look alright.......
Any Demo's available?

Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Did you read the comments about Dragon Age, nobody was really raving about it were they?
Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Well, no, no-one was raving about it, but I kinda like that. Really bothers me when people rave about a game & then I get the game and after playing I think "well.......... it's a'right......"
I'll see if I can track down demo's for both titles tonight.

I have to agree with you there NR TOAB I enjoyed playing Dungeon lord and I read some reviews on that game too where people were saying it was rubbish but I found it very good and enjoyed playing it..
Sometimes I think some reviews are sent in by kids and the game may be too hard for them anyway so they run it down..

LP wrote: I turned into a vampire, I like the strength and other bonuses but the dying in daylight thing was really inconvenient so I reloaded a save point before I became a creature of the night. Lost quite a bit of the story mission though
Nooooooooooooo!! lmao
Become a vamp again!! Then before you rest and become a fully fledged vamp go to see a healer. They will heal you but you will keep all the bonuses
There's also a side mission to cure yourself from vampirism which is quite fun.

I knew you could do the side mission to cure yourself but it involved collecting hundreds of random items from all over the map so I just went back. I've got the Viles Lair now though and that can cure vampirism so I might give it another go. Didn't know you'd keep the benefits
Re: Oblivion - The Elder Scrolls
Tried getting vamped up and using the viles lair cure and it took all the bonuses away
