Re: Fallout 3........
I'm not looking at any new TV's for a while now. I can't afford one so I'd just be winding myself up, I would also make a PS3 my next big purchase, once there are a few more at a reasonable price on the second hand market
Re: Fallout 3........
I made a handy discovery last night, you can use Charon as a handbag! Once I hit my weight limit I just gave him all my junk and carried on scavenging, very handy fella!
I’m now going through far enough to get Fawkes (can he use power armour?) and I want to find a robot, then I will be cruising the wastes with Dogmeat, Charon, Fawkes and a Robot! I will be unstoppable Are there any more companions I can add to my entourage?

Re: Fallout 3........
Firstly, you can only have a maximum of 2 companions at any one time, dogmeat & one other. If you do not have dogmeat then you might only be able to take 1 companion.
Every companion in the game, with the exception of dogmeat, can carry items for you. How much they can carry depends on their strength so Charon will be able to carry more than the female slave which you can buy but Fawkes can carry more than Charon.
Fawkes is too large for power armour & to be honest he really doesn't need it. That man mountain will clear out rooms for you in a heartbeat. You may start to leave him outside places so that you can have some of the killing action. As Fawkes & Charon are radioactive mutants they automatically heal when exposed to radiation. Power armour gives defense against radiation so Charon won't re-heal when wearing it, but Fawkes will heal himself all the time.

Re: Fallout 3........
I like the tunes on Galaxy, I’ve played a lot of them in the past I don’t think I’ve heard the servant story though
I WANT AN ENTOURAGE!!! Tell me about Jericho, is he worth getting? How evil would I need to be to acquire him? Could I recruit them all but leave them in their safe places when I’m not using them? IT’S NOT FAIR!!!
Who’s the slave girl and what can I do with her?

Re: Fallout 3........
Jericho is a useless twat! Sure he can carry stuff, but get into a fight with him as backup & you'll have an empty space for another companion pretty quickly. You just need to be the right side of evil to get him, there's no need for very evil.
When you fire a companion they go to certain places & will wait there so if you want to rehire them you can. Fawkes, for instance, will make his way to the museum of history if you fire him & he will wait there for the rest of the game unless you re-hire him.
The slave girl can be purchased at paradise falls from the slave leader Eulogy Jones (I think that's his name). She'll cost you about 1000 caps though. She's a bit of a nutter & can be useful in a fight as she will just charge in with all guns blazing. The downside is that she'll die rather quickly. Unfortunately I don't think you can bone her, but I was a female character the only time I've recruited her. I also think you need to be evil to obtain her.

Re: Fallout 3........
I can hire Butch!!! Excellent
Right lets talk stats! This time round I got my speech to 100 as soon as possible, I used the swift learner perk to boost my points and then worked through the gun nut perks, the last one I got was the animal friend. I’ve also built up my barter and repair and lockpick skills but this is all at the expense of fire power. What do you see as your priorities?

Re: Fallout 3........
My priorites change with each playthrough, but the main one's would probably be:
Speech, Barter & Lockpick.
I never fill anything to 100 because of all the boosts you can get during the game. For instance, wearing the Vault 101 utility jumpsuit will boost your lockpick skills by +5 & the sheriffs hat will boost your preception by +1 giving you about +3 - +5 on the lockpick skill. If you have the right items with you then you never need to have anything above 85.

Re: Fallout 3........
I had considered that but as I always forget to don the relevant gown I thought it'd be easier to just max out the ones I use the most
Re: Fallout 3........
Ah, I always assess the situation. If I can't open a door then I check if I can with the utility jumpsuit, sheriff hat & popping a mentat. Usually does the trick.
Almost everything is like that. The only thing I get stumped on sometimes is combat, especially when taken by surprise.
Oh, I found the Kneecapper last night. It's a better version of the Sawn off Shotgun. Went on a bit of a rampage with that. So much fun! I just wish I could wipe out Lamplight. I forgot how annoying those kids can be, wanted to teach them a little respect, wasteland style. I am the scourge of humanity afterall......

Re: Fallout 3........
Yeah I think it's well out of order that you can't masacre the kids! you could wipe out Big Town if it makes you feel any better
I met my first deathclaw last night There's no need for that is there? Dogmeat died after two swipes and I died seconds later WTF is that about? I didn't go back as I was miles away from my last save and I couldn't be bothered. What's the best way to put that fucker down then?

Re: Fallout 3........
I wiped out Big Town already......
Oh deathclaws are simply deadly! I've not found an easy way to put them down yet. The only advice I can give is to keep your eyes peeled & try to spot them before they spot you.... Or at least try to spot them & start firing before they get to you. Give it time & you'll start going Deathclaw hunting....

Re: Fallout 3........
You should have seen the look on my face when I emptyied my plasma rifle into his head and all he did was roar and kill my dog!!
I will have to go back and kill him for that little slap in the face I'm thinking missile launcher, grenades and mines. That should do the trick

Re: Fallout 3........
Moves too quickly for the missle launcher. Grenades & mines are less effective than you would think. You could always use the Mini-Nuke launcher, but that's a bit extreme........................ But extreme is good!

Re: Fallout 3........
Bugger, hadn't thought of that! The shotgun just seemed to make him more murderous to That's the first time the shotgun hasn't saved my arse!
Re: Fallout 3........
If you can sneak up on them then you're laughing. If they sneak up on you it's not so funny........
Ohh....... did you get the Alien Blaster yet?? That does the trick real good!

Re: Fallout 3........
That’s something else I meant to ask you about, I’ve seen a couple of random flashes out on the wastes but I usually just catch them out of the corner of my eye and can’t pinpoint them accurately. From what I gather these are where I will find the blaster right?
Re: Fallout 3........
Those are where you will find the Alien Blaster Rifle or Firelancer.
The Alien Blaster can be obtained next to the body of a dead alien lying a few feet away from his crashed spaceship. The Alien Crash Site is found due north of MDPL-13 Power Station and northwest of the Greener Pastures Disposal Site. Use it wisely as there are only 120 Alien Power Cells found at the crash site.
