Re: World Cup 2010
I think you're right on 1 - 1, but I think we'll score our second a few minutes before it would've gone to penalties

Re: World Cup 2010
That has got to rank as one of the most shambolic inept England performances I've seen in some time. 4-1 But, take nothing away from Germany, full credit to them as they played wonderfully & deserved to win by a much bigger margin. Think it's back to the drawing board for the Three Lions......... The roar is more worrying than the bite..... And the roar isn't that loud.....

Re: World Cup 2010
I know!!!
You would have thought that they would feel proud to play for their country, I could see no pride, no determination and no passion. The keeper played brilliantly but got badly let down by his defence, must have been a very quiet bus ride home

Bus ride!! After that shambles I would've made them all walk back to the hotel & swim back to England!! It just didn't look like they really wanted to play......

Re: World Cup 2010
Playing on the international stage is an honour. If they wanna simply get paid to do so then they shouldn't be given the honour of wearing the shirt & representing their country in the greatest footballing spectacle on earth.
Half of em aren't good enough to play international football anyway.

Looks like England's dismal performance may have seriously fuelled the argument for goal line technology. Bout bloody time to!!

Re: World Cup 2010
The argument has been there forever but FIFA, the stubborn dogs, won't budge on it. It would take only a couple of seconds & the technology already exists but they'll still not do it.....
Makes one wonder why not....

Re: World Cup 2010
Well, that's the end of the World Cup. Spain walk away victorious with Holland runners up for the 3rd time, always the bridesmaid.
To be honest it's been a dissapointing world cup. None of the so called "Worlds Greatest Players" performed on the big stage, teams seemed to worried about not losing rather than going out to win & entertain, and the final itself was little more than a Sunday Park brawl.
Let's hope the next World Cup is a bit better on the entertainment stakes. However, well done South Africa for hosting the World Cup so well. It's just a shame that the players didn't turn up.
