Fears and Phobias

Spiders!! I hate them, it's not all spiders though particularly the british house spider. I see them all the time at the moment and they're getting bigger than they've ever been in this country. They properly freak me out, I keep checking my neck and sleeves after I've seen one.

What irrational fears do you have?

Bridges....... Can't walk across them, can't walk under them, can't drive across them. They just freak me out. Think it has something to do with the song "London Bridge is Falling down"....

NR, really? I wouldn't have guessed that one, must be a bugger in London though!

Yeah, really. When I was younger I always used to close my eyes when we went under a bridge & wouldn't open them again until we were out the other end. Funnily enough I don't have the same problem with tunnels. Just Bridge's But it's not to bad in London. I'd only have to cross a Bridge to go to South London which I never really have to do

See that is a proper phobia, no rhyme or reason to it and the person who has it recognises that it's stupid but it still freaks you out! Why do our brains work like that??

Not sure why our brains work like that, but it's not the first time I've heard of someone with a phobia of Midgets. A woman I worked abroad with was the same. had a crippling fear of midgets. Was the funniest thing I'd ever seen when we had a midget come out as a guest. She screamed & ran so fast when she saw him

My sister has a phobia of Ginger people

Gingerphobia is a bad one I'm still laughing about the midgets though, I just found an animated dancing midget and I was so tempted to post it

You see Angel you couldn't really call your dislike of creepy crawlies a phobia, you don't like them but it's not an irrational fear. The midgets is pure Phobia gold
