Re: Prototype
This game has been dubbed the modern assassins creed but it's so much more than that. In fact the only similarity is the ability to climb and surface and run freely around the city. The city is on the same scale as GTA and just as impressive in terms of detail but as it's all on one island instead of the three on GTA it feels much bigger. Of course you can get to the top of enormous skyscrapers to which opens up the scope of the map much more.
You play Alex Mercer, who wakes up in a morgue one day to discover that he has superhuman strength and speed and the military want him dead. Naturally you escape and kick a bit of ass before finding out whats going on. Turns out that you are a carrier for a deadly virus that soon begins to consume the city, turning normal people into freaky mutant things. For some reason, yet to be explained to me, the virus has a very different effect on you, you soon learn that as well as your speed and strength you have the power to consume any other living creature, taking on their memories and skills in the process. You can also manipulate your genetic make up instantly to take on the appearance of those you consume, or turn your hands into massive lumps of rock and pound everyone into oblivion. You can activate claws and slash everyone in your wake to tiny little pieces ( this is scarily realistic, people literally slice in half where you hit them, not a pre-designated point in the graphics) You can transform one arm into a whip and slice through large crowds of people in one go. You develop the ability to glide for long distances miles above the city and rain death and destruction from above. You can turn one arm into a shield and run head long into cars, lorries, people all of which are tossed aside like ragdolls as you plough through. You can jump high into the air and select a human to use as a surfboard, skidding along the streets leaving a trail of blood and guts as their body disintegrates beneath you. You can pick up and throw cars, people, air con units, satelite dishes etc.
To be honest the list of powers is so fun and extensive that I have barely gone near the story mode, that which I have played has been great fun. Challenging missions with a good variation in objectives, you struggle to discover what's happened to you and how you can stop the spread of this virus and uncover the government conspiracy that caused it all in the first place.
If you don't fancy the story mode there are tonnes of little challenges dotted around the city from races to kill as many people in a certain time limit.
I cannot express how much I love this game right now, I'm quite easy to please when it comes to gaming but I really cannot find an aspect of this game that I don't like yet.

Re: Prototype
Got to the last boss last night, it's a bit tricky so I left it to come at it with fresh eyes today. Still loving it though, barely scratched the surface of the side missions.
Re: Prototype
Good plan dude. I'm gonna replay Bayonetta & Dante's Inferno. Missed a few things on those.
