Can't do gardening anymore..... well, not after the police had a look round cheers rofl

Seriously, I'm not green fingered really. I'm all for a BBQ or pool party but the most actual gardening I would do is picking up the phone & calling someone to do it for me. LP

Not bad but what’s with the Hydrangeas and Magnolias?? You’re not an old lady are you? Hydrangeas are for old biddies and Magnolias only flowers for ten minutes every year. The baskets sound good though, are your sunflowers still going?

Tytonidae wrote:Is there anything colourful for the winter, that will do well in some large pots? cheers

Yes Ty, I would go with something like Japanese anenomes and Tricyrtis (just coming into flower now) and fill out with bedding plants like miniature cyclamen, pansies, dianthus, violas, even late flowering Chrysants. There is also a variety of Antirhinum that will flower through til Christmas called ‘La Bella’ which will be available around about now.

They can also look a bit tacky when shoved into a graveled garden! Of course that's only usually the Australis variety.

I only dislike them in the way that are used near my house. It’s a new development area and all the gardens have been designed to be low maintenance. Gravel and Cordylines, real class LP
