PS3 vs Xbox

I love this argument, some people are really vehement in their defence of their chosen console. I have owned both and think that there are plus and minus points for each.

What do you think?

I stood by Sony when they released the PS3, I paid the extortionate amount they were charging as I has always preferred the PS2 to the xbox. After months of waiting around around for my friends to upgrade I watched as one by one they jumped on the 360 bandwagon. So I sold my PS3 with one game and one controller, the money I made from that sale got me a secondhand 360, two controllers, 8 games, wireless internet adaptor, wireless headset and paid for a years a years subscription to xbox live (yes I know it’s free on the PS3). Now sony have dropped the price of the PS3 and I, for one, feel quite cheated! I have always said that the PS3 is the better machine but noone could join me on it because they couldn’t afford the damn thing, now they can and that ship has sailed I’m afraid. If the xbox dies then I may consider swapping back over but those greedy japs shot themselves in the foot with that little manoeuvre.

BBC iPlayer now available on PS3!!! Wins hands down for me! Bill gates can take his x-box & shove it up his x-box! Buy all your friends a PS3 for christmas......... Okay, maybe not...... They'll soon come over to the darkside..... As will you

Certainly get your money's worth out of it. I've got a mate who has.... Uses it as a door stop!

Gets a dry polish every day & a full clean on Sunday's! As does the PS3 TV! Both are still very shiny...... Maybe I'm taking my obsession a little too far....

Seperate gaming TV is a must! Top of the range Toshiba 42" 1080p beast! 3 HDMI slots, 3 Scart slots, plus PC support. Anyone who doesn't have a gaming TV is not a true gamer!

Can I confirm that you have never contaminated that beautiful TV of yours with filthy TV programs?

Well, it has been contaminated with Blu-ray films, but through the PS3. I had to use it as my main TV for 2 days when the other one went on the blink. And I do watch the odd footie game on it, but apart from that it's been TV program free! It shall remain that way until January when I upgrade.

Upgrade the gaming TV and relegate the current TV to the post of main TV right?

Just not sure what to upgrade to yet..... Stick with Tosh or go for Sony? Maybe Panasonic or Samsung....... No, not Samsung. They sponser Chelsea!

It’s got to be a Sony surely! What else would provide the optimum picture quality for a PS3?

I was thinking that, but their TV's haven't been getting rave reviews. They're also darn expensive!

I haven't been looking into it myself, I am ore than happy with my Wharfdale. I have a much cheaper alternative as a main TV, can't even remember the name of it actually.

I'm happy with my Tosh, it's just the standard TV which is on it's way out. I have had it for about 8 years now. So the question I had to ask myself was do I get a 32" & use that as the Main TV or upgrade to a new gaming TV and end up with 2 42"? Thought I'd do the later as I'm getting Sky HD.
