Oooh! A new one!!! Been looking for a decent client! But how fast is it really?? And what's the downsides?

Faster than utorrent but I can't find any downsides, you can set it up to automatically stream movies to your xbox or ps3 and it'll convert any music file to make it playable on your ipod. To start with there are only about 5 sites that it searches on but you can download search templates and getting it looking all over the net for you. Genius.

Hmmmmm...... Sounds good. Almost too good. Think I'll download this one tonight if I get the chance. Getting tired of Limewire

Forgot to say, you can set up subscriptions so if you're waiting for a new release you can tell it to remind you when it becomes available.

Every time I tried anything with that I got riddled with viruses, same thing a happened to a lot of my friends. Have you had any issues?

I think Limewire may have something to do with my old computer going on the blink, but I've checked the files & they are all clean I Don't use Limewire anymore, but was very tempted to download it again.

This may have just saved my Computer!

It is clever, viruses piggy back in on other files and seem to appear as part of the operating system, not too hard to fix if you know what to look for though. Vuze hasn't ever given me these problems though.

Came with it. Means I can download multiplayer games for free & connect with other people on the Playstation Network & X-Box Live Can't complain about that........ Yet...

Takes a little while to download though........ Seems Limewire was quicker, but we don't need to go into the downsides to that

Little tip for ya, edit the search engines in the search results window on Vuze. You can set it search a lot more sites than it's set to do when you first install it

Oh, raptr downlowded quickly, I was talking about the download speed of Vuze seeming slower than limewire.

Oh i got ya, I never used limewire but this is faster than uTorrent when you get your speed settings right

The above is a good site for torrents. Try and only download torrents with a lot of peers (edited -Try and only download torrents with a lot of seeders in relation to peers. The more seedera you can connect to the faster the download.) Remember to always read the comments before downloading. For movies the comments will tell you whether it's a proper screener or just a cam jobbie.

Also, bear in mind, torrents tend to speed up late at night when all the Americans log on :)

Final tip is to also install Daemon Tools. It's 100% free and it's a little program that creates a virtual DVD drive. Saves you having to burn the ISO's to disc.

Ok I have a question. I'm downloading Karate Kid right now and my peers say 6(4505)!! If there are 4505 people downloading this why am I only hooked up to 6 of them and what can I do to increase that?

You need to look at two things. Seeders and peers. Seeders are the providers of a file and peers are the recipients.

Whenever you successfully download a torrent leave the torrent running for a few hours afterwards. This then makes you become a seeder which is a user that somebody else can download from.

If the ratio of peers to seeders is really crap (i.e.10 seeders to a thousand peers) then the download speed of that file will be rubbish because too many people are trying to use a very limited amount of bandwith. More seeders therefore means more available bandwith in the pot so to speak.

However, it is constantly changing because people are downloading the files from all over the world all of the time. America has very fast broadband and American users usually log on late at night when we're asleep (their daytime hours in other words). This is why at about 1 am the download speed will suddenly start shooting up.

This site doesn't have torrents but does give you links to the best torrents currently available.

For reference the following means:

CAM - Avoid. Shit copy. Always.

TS - Telesync. This is a video cd as opposed to a DVD. Better than a Cam but still far from perfect. Usually these are just cleaned up cam versions.

R5 - Only marginally below full DVD quality. These are made by first obtaining the VIDEO TS source from somewhere that has released the film early, e.g. Russia and then overlaying the AUDIO TS taken from a Cam job.

DVDRip - Perfect DVD quality but on an AVI file format which is much smaller in size to a DVD. AVI's are usually under 1 GB whereas a full blown DVD is up to 4.8 GB's. Most modern DVD players now have a USB port into which you can insert a USB memory stick with any AVI films you've downloaded to view them on your TV.

If you ever see XVID or DIVX or similar don't worry. Thats just the method of encryption the uploader has used.

Finally (phew!) download and install codecs for your PC. Codecs are little instructions to your PC on how to read the varying encryption methods such as DIVX etc and enable you to watch them. Forget about watching downloaded films on Media player because that's shit. Download and install VLC media player which has all the codecs you need as part of the program. After installing all you do then is just drag and drop your file on to the VLC desktop icon.

Ok but that doesn't explain what all those guys in the brackets are doing, I have 36(3831) Seeding this file. I understand that the numbers in brackets are users I'm not connecting to but how come if there are so many of them?
