Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I've been having a great time on Fallout but I have to say when I turned on the box last night and saw 5 of my friends all online playing this I knew it would only be a matter of time before it was mine.

My cousin has been going gaga over this game. Not sure I'll be getting it though. The last one didn't exactly fill me with a love for the game

I'm loving it mate but then I liked all the previous titles. Little additions to the gameplay like diving into prone from running just makes you feel a bit slicker and a bit more in control.
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I'm sure I'll get the chance to try it out at somepoint & if I manage to get it for crimbo I won't be too upset. Sounds really good though. As I said, my cousin won't shut up about & I've a few other mates who either have it or will have it by the end of the weekend.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
As I recall you never did try the Nazi Zombies on the previous title If that doesn't get you hooked then you're not a real gamer
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
That's massive responsibility on the shoulders Nazi Zombies...... Think a trip to my cousins is in order...

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
This is probably the best write up I've read to wet your appetite for it:
"When I first read that there was a zombie level at the end of the new Call Of Duty I was a bit confused. Why mess with such a highly respected franchise such as COD? I was sure that COD had jumped the shark. Until I played the zombie level.
Most of COD: World at War is your average WWII shooter. But after you slog through it, you unlock a mode called "Nacht der Untoten" (Night of the Undead). This COD addon takes place entirely in a single house as waves of increasingly numerous and aggressive zombies slog up to eat your brain. Your goal is to stave them off with the same WWII weapons that you hopefully mastered while fighting your way through the normal game levels. Leaving the house is not an option, but there are windows and walls that you can board up to slow the approaching zombies.
The level starts out as a single room where you can purchase a couple of marginally useful rifles. As you earn points for killing zombies, there are doors and barricades you can pay to open, which will mean there are more windows to defend. But the upshot is that expanding into other rooms will let you buy better weapons, such as the machine gun in the room near the main entrance and the shotgun upstairs. The machine gun room is especially useful because of the presence of the "mystery box". More about that on the Tips and Tricks page.
What the Nazi Zombies addon captures so beautifully is the slowly escalating tension, the feeling of dread, and the inevitability of your own death. At the beginning of the game you are relaxed and confident and feel as though you could keep head-shotting the zombies all day...but you are soon stomping your feet, cursing and even screaming as you realize that the oncoming hordes are simply too much and that you will soon perish in a mass of gnashing teeth and razor-sharp claws.
From the first attempt I was hooked! My favorite thing about WAW is NAZI ZOMBIES! Its Dawn of the Dead meets Quinton Taratino meets COD with that 70's style campiness that we all love so much. The first few times I played the Zombie level it was quite creepy and made me very anxious. My pulse went up and I was actually mortified when the zombies eventually caught me. Not for the faint of heart (or small children).
I am happy to say that I have been playing for over a year and the game still makes my heart pound and I still freak out when zombies catch up to me. This game is very addictive and I for one would love to see a spin off game with more buildings to play in, downloadable maps, etc.
I hope Treyarch hears my call and starts working immediately on a stand-alone version of Nazi Zombies."

Kino der Toten - Theatre of the Damned
Playing this with my buddy the other night we got to round 20, I think we could have got further but as usual a silly mistake cost us our lives! Anyone else managed to get higher than this, if so what was your tactic?

Solo Zombies, round 19. Shouldn't have stopped there but I paused for a piss and forgot what I was doing when I started again. Ran round the corner into a big crowd whilst being followed by a big crowd!! Not cool!
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops
I just got to round 25 on Solo Zombies!!! I was using the upgraded Ray Gun and the Zuess Cannon and just kept running in a circle, every time I had enough points to hit a trap I did and I paid frequent visits to the Teleporter to get me out of the action long enough to create a nice big target for when I got back. Can't remember how many kills that was but at around 100 points a zombie and scoring 600,010 with 173 headshots I'm quite proud of the achievement.
Now I have to replicate this success online so that it can show on the damn leaderboard
