Carter says Obama row is 'Racist'

Former US President Jimmy Carter says much of the vitriol against President Barack Obama's health reforms and spending plans is "based on racism".

Mr Carter told a public meeting there was "an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president".

Consider this then, peoples politcal standpoint can be affected by the politicians skin colour in a negative way, as you have just highlighted. Can the reverse then be said? Did Obama get extra votes because he is black?

People often only believe what they want to believe despite contradictory evidence being shown to them. You only have to look at religion to see the truth in that.
